Frequently asked questions

Find answers to some of the most common questions about working at CEBRA – from daily life in the office to practical details about employment, internships, and development opportunities.

What is the working language?

Our working languages are Danish and English. Everyone in the office is fluent in English. If you're part of Danish projects, Danish skills are an advantage.

Our workplace is international and has a great diversity of people from across Scandinavia, Europe, and Asia.

Do you encourage remote working?

Our teams work from our studios in central Aarhus and Copenhagen – and we do not offer remote working as a standard option.

We believe that the quality of our work depends on being present – working closely together, exchanging ideas continuously, and building strong personal and professional relationships across teams.

In special situations, short-term arrangements can be made in agreement with your project management. But as a general principle, we expect everyone to be present in the office.

What software do you use?

We are a Windows-based office environment and use a wide range of software, depending on your job description. The office standard software for general work is:

  • Microsoft Office - Word, Excel
  • Adobe CC - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • Autodesk Revit - BIM software
  • Rhino - Primary 2D and 3D sketching

What working hours do you keep?

The weekly norm is 37 hours, depending on your contract.

Our offices are open on weekdays from 8:00 AM to 4 PM. Most people are present in the office from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The remaining hours are based on each employee’s individual schedule.

Around deadlines, longer workdays must be expected. But naturally, the extra hours you spend, you register and take as time off later.

How is the day-to-day management?

We have a day-to-day management group consisting of CEBRA’s Partners and Associate Partners. They work with project managers to help set the best teams and staff projects.

Administrative staff assist the project team and management with everything from contracting, finance, HR, operations, communications, and business development.

What are the requirements for doing an internship?

We accept a limited number of architect and constructing architect interns each spring and autumn semester.

We expect applicants to demonstrate a high level of commitment, curiosity, empathy, and the ability to contribute meaningfully to a professional and creative environment from day one. If you excel in certain disciplines, show us - we love nerdy talent, precision and great ambition.

All applicants must be fluent in English and proficient in: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Rhino, Revit, and Enscape.

You must be enrolled at an accredited university. Internships last a minimum of 5 months. We do not offer summer internships.

Applications must be submitted through our job portals.

How are interns selected?

Internship applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis and are selected based on the application and portfolio. We look for aesthetic design skills, communication skills, conceptual ideas, technical skills, graphic skills, experience, etc.

We do not expect interns to master everything. Instead, if you excel in something, use that to your advantage.

How is social life at the offices?

Building strong relations across the office is part of our everyday culture.

We eat lunch together daily. The lunch scheme is optional and included in the salary package.

We organise Friday bars, annual summer and Christmas parties, and smaller gatherings around sports and cultural activities.

Once a month, we host an office-wide briefing with updates on both projects and office life across the studios.

Do you do common study trips?

We do longer and shorter study trips to study architecture and everything related to the built environment. The occurrence, timing, and character of each study trip depend on the studio’s current work schedule, tasks, and ambitions.
